Adams County Fatal Crash Investigation Continues After Collision

Description: Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal front-end crash on East 120th Avenue near North Powhaton Road in Adams County involving a Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150. One person died, four others were hospitalized, and the road reopened at 6:38 p.m.

**Update** Fatal Crash in Adams County

(Adams County, COLO) – The ongoing investigation of the fatal crash on 120th Ave near N Powhaton Rd shows the Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on E 120th Ave, west of N Powhaton Rd, while the Ford F-150XLT was traveling eastbound. The Chevrolet traveled into the eastbound lane, and the Ford traveled onto the south shoulder in an attempt to avoid the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet's front left bumper struck the Ford's front left bumper. Both vehicles came to rest, blocking lanes of travel.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 48-year-old male from Denver, was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger of the Chevrolet, a 28-year-old male from Denver, was transported to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford, now identified as a 62 year-old male from Bennett, was transported to an area hospital for serious injuries. The passengers of the Ford, a 61-year-old female from Bennet, was transported to an area hospital for moderate injuries, and a 33-year-old male from Bennet, was transported to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing, and the cause has not been determined at this time. The Adams County Coroner's Office will identify the deceased driver once proper next of kin notifications have been made. The road was reopened at 6:38 p.m.

The driver of the Silverado, a 48-year-old male, was pronounced deceased on scene.  The passenger of the Silverado, a 28-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old male, and his passengers, a 61-year-old female and a 33-year-old male, were transported to an area hospital.

The road was reopened at approximately 6:38 p.m.

This crash is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol's Vehicular Crimes Unit.
