Semi Roll-Over Blocks Interstate 70
Traffic is being diverted to Highway 40
(Jefferson County, COLO) - This morning, May 27, 2026, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Colorado State Patrol troopers responded to westbound Interstate 70 near milepost 258, west of Golden, for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash involving a fuel tanker.
Initial investigation shows the semi was westbound on Interstate 70, where it went off the right side of the road, rolling onto its passenger side. The driver, a 27-year-old male from Denver, suffered no injuries. The Colorado State Patrol Hazmat Unit responded for a leak on the tanker.

Westbound Interstate 70 has been shut down, and traffic is being diverted to Highway 40. There is no estimated time for the road reopening.
