Obituary

A mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Robert G. Schemahorn, Jr., affectionately known to his family and friends as Bob, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Boniface Onjefu as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.

Visitation for Bob will be held from 8:30AM until the time of service on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Bob was born on August 6, 1944 at Wichita, Kansas to Robert G. and Marie Annette (Gist) Schemahorn, Sr. and passed away on June 10, 2026 at his home in Pueblo with his family by his side at the age of 81.

He is preceded in death by his wife RuthAnne Schemahorn, parents Robert G. and Marie Annette (Gist) Schemahorn, Sr., son, David Keith, brothers Van Steven “Steve” Schemahorn, James L. “Jimmy” Schemahorn and Brian Schemahorn and great-nephews Bryson Schemahorn and James Conley.

Bob is survived by his children Kelly (Scott) Curley of Lamar, CO and Jeff (Lana) Schemahorn of Pueblo West, CO, grandchildren Tyler (Kelsey) Curley, Whitney (Renee Miller) Curley, Sydney (Josh) Warman, Kimberly (Brad Lose) Schemahorn, Joshua (Amanda) Schemahorn, Michael Schemahorn and Amber Greer, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sister Linda (Ron) Mulbery of Salem, OR, in-laws Carolyn Graves, Rebecca Conley, Mary Conley, Mark (Lana) Conley and Sherri Schemahorn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Foundation and/or St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
