Fatal Crash on Highway 285

(JEFFERSON COUNTY, COLO) - On June 14, 2026, the Colorado State Patrol responded to a single motorcycle crash on southbound Highway 285 at milepost 241, north of the Aspen Park area.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle struck a cable rail.

The 19-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene. The Jefferson County Coroner will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.

The Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit is leading the investigation, with no cause determined at this time.

Both northbound and southbound left lanes of Highway 285 were closed. Right lanes in both directions remained open.
