Obituary

Roy Joseph Gonzales took his last breath on earth with both his daughters Sherry Gomez and Sandi Gonzales at his bedside on June 13, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents Santiago and Eduvigen Gonzales, multiple siblings as well as his daughter Melissa Gonzales. Roy is survived by his brother Joseph (Tina) Gonzales, daughter Sherry (Mark) Gomez, son Randy Gonzales, daughter Sandi Gonzales, son Duke Gonzales, son Roy (Barbara) Gonzales Jr., daughters Renee Alvarez, and Yolanda Aguirre, as well as multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews .

Roy was employed at Pritchard Lumber company, Nick's Stixs and then retired from Huerfano RE-1 school district. He enjoyed decorating for all the holidays, Christmas and Halloween were his favorite. Roy was an actual artist and loved to sketch horses. His favorite past time was reading Louis L'Amour books and watching Western movies or TV series. Roy loved to dance and being out in nature brought him great peace. When Roy still lived at home he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Greg and Jordan Bobian. He will be remembered for his great smile and work ethic. Per his request no services will be held.

Sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at Spanish Peaks Regional health center extended care unit and Allelon Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Roy.
