La Junta Police Suspect Crashes During Pursuit and Arrested by Bent County Sheriff's Office

Description: Bent County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect after a vehicle pursuit ended in a crash on County Road 11 south of County Road CC on June 27, 2026. The pursuit began after deputies located a vehicle identified in a La Junta Police Department attempt-to-locate alert. The investigation remains active.

On June 27, 2026 at approximately 2153 hours, the Bent County Sheriff's Office responded to an Attempt to Locate (ATL) notification broadcast by the La Junta Police Department regarding a suspect vehicle. Bent County Deputies successfully located the vehicle and attempted to make contact with the driver. The driver failed to yield, fled from deputies, and subsequently crashed on County Road 11 south of County Road CC. 

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation and treatment. The Bent County Sheriff's Office thanks the Bent County Sheriff's Office Posse Members, the Las Animas Fire Department, and the Bent County Ambulance Service for responding.
