Pre-Evacuation Notice for Southern Fremont County
Following the evacuation order issued for the Wetmore area, a pre-evacuation order has been issued for portions of southern Fremont County by Chief Ritter.
The pre-evacuation area includes properties along Highway 67, extending approximately 4.5 miles north of the Fremont–Custer County line, and encompasses residences 2 miles east and 2.5 miles west of the highway.
Florence Fire Protection District has deployed three fire units to assist the Wetmore Fire Protection District with this incident.
The pre-evacuation order will remain in effect until either residents are allowed to return to Wetmore or fire conditions change. If the fire advances and threatens the area, the pre-evacuation order will be upgraded to a mandatory evacuation.
Residents in the affected area are encouraged to stay alert, monitor official updates, and be prepared to leave if an evacuation order is issued.
