La Junta Police Arrest Man After Reported Firearm Threat Against Juveniles at Walmart

On 7-7-2026 at approximately 1420 hours, Officers with the La Junta Police Department were dispatched to Walmart, for the report that a male party flashed a firearm, in a threatening manner, at two juveniles.

Officers contacted the suspect and victim. Officers conducted a vehicle search. A starter pistol, which had been spray painted, was located inside the vehicle. The suspect, Carl Medina (DOB 11-3-2002) was placed in custody without incident. Mr. Medina was transported to the Otero County Jail and charged with Felony Menacing, C.R.S. 18-3-206.

All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
