Obituary

Gerald Dean Gentzler went to be with our Lord on July 2nd, 2026. He was born in Liberal KS on June 22, 1938, to Simon Peter and Jessie L. Gentzler.

He married Kathryn June Meyers in 1958 and shared 68 years together. He was nearly a lifelong resident of Springfield living for short periods in California and Alamosa. He was known for being a skilled craftsman in body shop repair and carpentry. He loved fishing and was a devoted man of faith with a big heart. He took care of his family, his church, served on the church board, and was generous with his time helping others in the community.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, two older brothers, Wilmont and Richard, and an older sister, Corinda.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, younger brother, Lester, son Larry (Melinda), daughter Sharon (Lisa), granddaughter Kyra (John) Bredeck and five great-grandchildren Aiden, Tristan, Keeley, Nicodemus, and Sybilla.
