Join Plays in the Park Youth-Led Theatre Company for the coming-of-age journey of The Lion King Jr! With Grammy Award-winning songs and an incredible story, it features a young lion prince destined to rule the Pride Lands, a wise mandrill, and a cast of iconic characters. Join Plays in the Park for their 2026 summer production for the journey of a lifetime, as you follow Simba in his quest to save the Pride Lands and discover who he's meant to be.

Performance for this production will take place July 16, 17, 18 at 7:00 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) All performances will take place at Livewell Park (3rd & Santa Fe Ave, La Junta).
 
This event is a BRING YOUR OWN SEATING (blankets, pillows, fold-out chairs, camping chairs, etc). Chairs will not be provided. General admission is $10.
 
If the misfortune of bad weather conditions happens, performances will be held indoors at Thyme Square (302 Colorado Ave, La Junta). All who purchase tickets online will be notified in advance if the performance location changes.
