Auto-Ped Crash Closes Southbound Interstate 25

(Larimer County, Colorado) – This morning, at about 8:45 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol was notified of a pedestrian who was on southbound Interstate 25 near Highway 34, running into traffic and causing vehicles to swerve to avoid a collision with the person. Shortly after, a crash involving a silver Kenworth semi-truck and a pedestrian was reported in the same area. 

The driver of the Kenworth, a 29-year-old male out of Fort Lupton, Colorado, was uninjured. The pedestrian, a 66-year-old male out of Berthoud, Colorado, was transported to a local area hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit are on the scene and will be leading the investigation. Southbound Interstate 25 at Highway 34 will be closed for an extended period of time, with the express lane being the only available open lane during the crash investigation.
