Multi-Vehicle Crash on Weld County Road 76

(WELD COUNTY, COLO) - On July 29, 2026, at approximately 6:07 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Weld County Road 76 and Weld County Road 33.

The crash involved an unmarked Fort Collins Police Department F-150, a Jeep Patriot, and a Volkswagen Rabbit.

Preliminary reports indicate the F-150 was making a left turn from southbound Weld County Road 33 onto Weld County Road 76 and struck the Jeep that was traveling northbound. After the impact between the F-150 and the Jeep, a Volkswagen Rabbit was struck.

The driver of the F-150, a Fort Collins Police Officer, was transported to a local area hospital. The officer had minor injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old female, and the three passengers were transported to a local area hospital. Injuries range from moderate to serious bodily injury.

There were no reports of injury from the driver of the Volkswagen Rabbit.

The officer was charged with the following:

• Careless Driving Caused Bodily Injury X2

• Careless Driving Caused Serious Bodily Injury

The Colorado State Patrol is handling the crash investigation. Any questions related to the officer's administrative matters should be directed to the Fort Collins Police Department.

The roadway was closed for approximately an hour and forty-five minutes. The roadway fully reopened at 7:45 p.m.

Arrests and charges are merely accusations until and unless a suspect is convicted of a crime. All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
