Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Firearm Arrest
On July 17, 2026, Fremont County Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Royal Gorge Boulevard in Canon City.
The driver, Andrew Christian-Bode, 27, of Cotopaxi, was contacted during the stop. Following an investigation, deputies established probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies located a bag containing suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a 9mm handgun, and a loaded magazine.
Andrew Christian-Bode was taken into custody and transported to the Fremont County Detention Center, where he was booked and held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
He was charged with:
• Special Offender (Drug Felony 1)
• Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Drug Felony 4)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Petty Offense)
• Defective/No Stop Lights (Traffic Infraction)
All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
