At approximately 7:33 a.m. today, Colorado River Fire Rescue, along with Glenwood Springs Fire Department crews, responded to a three-vehicle accident near mile marker 107 on eastbound I-70 in New Castle.

Two of the vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Eastbound I-70 was closed while crews worked to extinguish the vehicle fires, secure the scene, and clear the roadway. The highway reopened at approximately 8:32 a.m.
Thank you to all responding agencies for their quick work, and to motorists for their patience while the incident was safely managed.
