La Junta Police Arrest 36-Year-Old After Alleged Bank Forgery, Find Suspected Meth

La Junta, CO - On 09/03/2026 at approximately 14:45 Officers with the La Junta Police Department were dispatched to the First National Bank in La Junta regarding a Forgery in progress.

Officers were able to initiate a traffic stop on a red Jeep near the intersection of 5th St. and Colorado Ave. which contained the alleged suspect.

Once an investigation was completed, 36 year old Alisha Pirnie was taken into custody.

Following a search of the vehicle and Ms. Pirnie, approximately 6 grams of suspected methamphetamine were located. A male passenger of the vehicle was detained but subsequently released at the scene.

Ms. Pirnie was booked into the Otero County Sherrif's Office for the following charges;

• 18-18-403.5 (2)(a) Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Level 4 Drug Felony

• 18-5-102 (1)(c) Forgery Felony 5

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
