Lamar Police Seize Fentanyl, Meth, Heroin, Cocaine and Firearms in Drug Raid; Man Faces 15 Charges

Lamar, CO - On 09/06/2026, Officers of the Lamar Police Department executed a search warrant in the area of the 500 Block of E. Oak St. The location has had prior search warrants executed regarding narcotics distribution. During the search warrant, numerous narcotics and evidence of narcotics distribution were located, along with firearms and defaced firearms. Illegal narcotics were seized, including Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Methadone, Heroin, Fentanyl, Xanax, Psilocybin Mushrooms, and “Crack”.  

Richard Wayne Jones, 50, of Lamar, was arrested for numerous criminal offenses related to the search warrant. 

Richard Wayne Jones was found to currently be on bond for similar charges from earlier this year in case 26CR3, where he is charged with numerous counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute.  

Richard Wayne Jones is currently held on a no-bond hold pending his first scheduled appearance on 15 various criminal charges. 

Richard Wayne Jones, 50, of Lamar, is currently being held at the Prowers County Jail on 15 various criminal charges including:

Multiple Counts of C.R.S. 18-18-405(1)(2)(b) and (1)(2)(c)- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Distribute

Multiple Counts of C.R.S. 18-18-403.5- Unlawful Possession of more than 4 Grams of a Controlled Substance DF4 and DM1 (Dependent on the Type of Substance)

Multiple Counts of C.R.S. 18-18-407(1)(d)(1)- Special Offender

C.R.S. 18-18-428- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

C.R.S. 18-12-103- Possession of a Defaced Firearm

C.R.S. 18-6-803.5- Violation of a Protection Order

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
