Obituary

Elfido “Lee” Jaramillo, 69, of La Junta, Colorado passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, in La Junta. He was born Friday, January 25, 1957, in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Emillio & Josie (Sandoval) Jaramillo.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather. Elfido “Lee” Jaramillo, 69, of La Junta, Colorado passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, in La Junta. He was born Friday, January 25, 1957, in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Emillio & Josie (Sandoval) Jaramillo.

Lee was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family. He loved cooking, fishing and spending time with the people he loved most. He was a caring and loving man who always made sure his family was taken care of. Lee enjoyed sitting around with his family, singing, playing music but mostly having good times together. He has a special way of bringing everyone together and making memories that will be cherished forever.

He was a wonderful grandfather and someone anyone can count on. His kindness, love and presence touched the lives of many.

Lee is survived by his wife Kathy Torrez; step-children, Tony Torrez, and Crystal Torrez; step- grandchildren, Qiana Torrez, Marcus Torrez, Savannah Rael, Nicole Whatley, and Anthony Torrez; step great-grandchildren, Marcus Torrez, Jr. and Jaxson Torrez; siblings, Merlinda Jaramillo, Larry Jaramillo, Nick Jaramillo, Felix Jaramillo, Frankie Jaramillo, and Alfonso Jaramillo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emillio & Josie Jaramillo; brothers, Alex Jaramillo, Jacob Jaramillo, Raymond Jaramillo, and Emillio Jaramillo, Jr. and sister-in-law, Rose Jaramillo.

Lee was a very loving husband, and he will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Memorial Service for Lee will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta.
