Weld County Deputies Arrest Man After Neighborhood Dispute Escalates

[Weld County, COLO.] Over the weekend, Weld County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrested a 45-year-old man following an investigation into an assault.

On Oct. 4, shortly after 8:30 P.M. patrol responded to an assault in progress in the 15400 block of Mary Ave in the Aristocrat Ranchettes, near Fort Lupton.

During the investigation, deputies learned the incident began as a neighborhood dispute due to loud music. Victim two reportedly walked across the street with a decibel reader to measure the sound from their neighbor’s fence. A verbal dispute ensued between victim two who is an adult female, and her adult female neighbor. Victim one, who is an adult male, went to check on victim two, and the female neighbor reportedly began assaulting him. Victim two attempted to separate the two adults when Richard Tryon reportedly came outside with a handgun and fired it into the air. Tryon then reportedly pointed the handgun at five of the victims, one of which is a juvenile.

After this, Tryon and victim one got into a verbal dispute, and Tryon reportedly struck victim one with his handgun.

Deputies collected evidence at the scene, and developed probable cause to arrest Tryon on suspicion of:

• Second Degree Assault-Aggravated-Non-Family-Gun

• Menacing (Felony)- 5 counts

• Reckless Endangerment

• Child Abuse – Negligence- 2 Counts

The female neighbor who reportedly assaulted victim one, was issued a summons for third degree assault.

No further information will be released today. All charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, unless proven guilty in a court of law.
