Shots Fired Incident in Alamosa County Leads to Attempted Murder Charges

Shots Fired Incident Leads to Arrest in Alamosa County

On June 18, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies with the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 138 Broadway Avenue (Love's Convenience Store) in reference to a report of shots fired.
 
Prior to arriving on scene, deputies learned that a vehicle involved in the incident was fleeing the area. Officers with the Alamosa Police Department and deputies with the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office located and contacted the suspect vehicle near the intersection of County Road 6 South and North River Road.
 
Through the course of the investigation, investigators determined that multiple shots were fired during a disturbance at Love's Convenience Store.
 
Investigators have arrested Terry Lawson, a 24-year-old Alamosa resident. Lawson was booked into the Alamosa County Detention Center on the following charges:
 
Criminal Attempt to Commit Second-Degree Murder (2 counts) – Class 3 Felony
Menacing (2 counts) – Class 5 Felony
Reckless Endangerment – Class 2 Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving – Traffic Misdemeanor 2
Prohibited Use of a Weapon – Class 2 Misdemeanor
Disorderly Conduct – Class 1 Misdemeanor
 
This appears to be an isolated incident, and investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.

This case remains under investigation.

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
