Otero College Foundation Golf Tournament set for August 29

Team Registration is still open 

LA JUNTA – The Otero College Foundation will be hosting its first golf tournament on Saturday, August 29 at the La Junta Municipal Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament will provide scholarship support to Otero College students over the coming academic year. Title sponsor for the inaugural tournament is SEBREA (Southeast Colorado Business Retention, Expansion and Attraction).

There are still spots open for teams who wish to register. The tournament is a 3-person scramble, capped at 18 teams. Entry fees are $400 per team with the top three teams earning cash prizes. Other cash prizes will include Straightest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Longest Put. Mulligans are available for purchase as well as tickets to a raffle drawing. Players will receive breakfast, lunch, and Otero College athletic swag. Check-in and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun-start at 8:30 a.m.

According to Almabeth Kaess, director of the Otero College Foundation, raising scholarship dollars for Otero College students is the primary focuses of the Otero College Foundation Board. “Over 84% of Otero College students have unmet financial need. Through the support of dedicated donors, alumni and fundraising events, the Otero Foundation can provide scholarship dollars that will help keep students from incurring too much student loan debt,” she explained.
