Next, going back in time,  "This Dithyramb", was published in "2.4.2023", in Alien Buddha Zine #60. Then, "Through Winter to Spring in SE Colorado" in Idle Ink, and "Full Moon Reflecting off the Peaks" out of South Broadway Ghost Society (both in 2023).

2019's "Genesis", published in "Chinook" out of Otero Junior College. In 2017  "Dagger of Tongues", was published through Poehemians (an online journal) and finally "The Angel" (included in ‘No Title No Leash’) which won the "Hot Potato Award" in the 2016 issue (online publication) of "Bewildering Stories." Donnie holds Bachelor degrees in philosophy and art, and an M.A. in poetry, from Northwest Missouri State University.

His first book of poetry, Tim's Cabin, was published by Alien Buddha Press in 2024.

He currently lives in Trinidad, Colorado where he sells art at a local gallery, plays music with musicians, and is a regular at open mic nights.

Remembering Tim

the life cycle of a sunflower field (it was like being

at a crucifixion

at a chapel

all facing the rising sun


loosing seeds as we looked away

greying in different directions

our faces turning brown

back into dirt

--getting stronger with each reflection


loosing seeds as we looked away

our grey heads seeing different nothings

(broken in small ways

these are the seeds for future generations


I keep starting

to dig (with every broken bone

while

remembering

blue skies

as it stormed inside

(because "truth" means starting over even after

I've translated him into wind and water


the previous year's seeds will be replaced

the flowering tops will be incised along a curved line

we must make sure everything is safe from the blackbird

as the wild ones climb

and climb
