If you know Mr. Tom Pulido, you know he has been a staple at La Junta Intermediate School for over a decade.

Always at drop off in the morning, visiting for lunch, offering a kind word, bright smile, and warm hug or high five to staff and students. The staff and students have always enjoyed his visits. We are honored to call him a great friend of LJIS. He was and always will be part of our school family.

We are blessed to have honored him in May with a special lunch and he was presented with several cards and pictures from the students and staff.  Our city manager and mayor got word of this and also presented him with an award.  We will always be honored to call him a great friend of LJIS.

Mr. Tom's love for his country was evident in everything he did, and his involvement with American Legion Post #9reflected his deep commitment to service. He faithfully attended LJIS's yearly 9/11 ceremonies and Veterans ceremonies, showing students the importance of honoring those who serve. He also always took the time to recognize and honor the students in color guard who raised and lowered the flags each day, reminding everyone of the value of patriotism through his presence and actions.

Thank you Mr. Tom for always giving us your best smile and being a ray of sunshine to everyone you encounter. 💜

Our hearts are heavy and we will dearly miss him at LJIS - he was part of our family. He always brightened the day.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his beautiful family and to our community, where he was such a beloved and familiar presence. Please know that you are in our thoughts and hearts during this difficult time, and we will continue to hold his memory close at LJIS and beyond.

Mrs. Apodaca and the entire LJIS Staff
